ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Armida Espinoza is a first-generation Mexican American, a retired bilingual teacher, and a devoted advocate for children and English language learners. Her writing is born from a lifetime of lived experience, a deep love for children, and an intimate understanding of how silent, harmful self-talk can leave lasting wounds on a tender heart. Having walked through those quiet struggles herself, she now writes with grace, honesty, and
compassion, offering children the reassurance that they are seen, cherished, and deeply worthy of love.
Through her work, Armida writes with tenderness, empathy, and hope, inviting young readers to discover the strength within their own hearts. She longs for every child to know that their inner voice carries power, that their words matter, and that speaking to themselves with kindness can become the first step toward healing, confidence, and lasting resilience.
Armida is a member of the International Society of Latino Authors (ISLA), the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI), and the Authors Guild, and an alumnus of the Children’s Book Masterclass Program and of Publishing Mastermind with Miriam Laundry Publishing Company.
Armida lives in Fresno, California, with her husband, Leonard, and two furry friends: Luna and Sol.
